When you book a branding session with me, whether it’s a mini or a full session, the first question I ask is: what is the main purpose of this session? Is to populate your website? Create seasonal social media posts and emails? General headshots and images of your work or “tools of the trade?”

Purpose is key in photography, which is why every mini session client receives a consultation call. During this call, we’ll discuss your session goals, outfit choices, props, and backdrops. We’ll also delve into your brand aesthetic to ensure I prepare the appropriate lighting and overall feel for your images.

To help you prepare, I provide a comprehensive guide with tips on clothing selection, hair styling, and mental preparation for the session. I understand that professional photoshoots aren’t an everyday occurrence, so I’m here to ensure you feel confident and prepared.

On the day of your session, we begin with a professional makeup application in a comfortable, separate room (complete with refreshments). Our aim is to enhance your natural look – think of it as showcasing your best self. For optimal results, consider avoiding alcohol for a few days prior and increasing your water intake to improve skin texture and appearance on camera.

And then the fun begins! During the shoot, I’ll guide you through natural movements and poses to capture authentic, engaging images. I’ll provide continuous feedback, highlighting what’s working well and quickly adjusting if needed. Given the 30-minute timeframe of a mini session, we’ll work efficiently to maximize our time and capture a variety of impactful images.
